On April 12-14, 2011 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, NATO will not only celebrate the association’s tenth anniversary, but also launch the new NATO Show which will be the best all tobacco category trade show in the country. Ten years ago, the National Association of Tobacco Outlets was created at the Rio Hotel. Now, with NATO having grown into a mature legislative trade association and earning a stellar reputation within the tobacco industry, the time is right expand the reach of the association through a trade show event.
A Unique Difference
Since 2001, NATO has worked tirelessly on virtually every kind of state and federal tobacco-related legislative issue. The goal of these efforts has been and will continue to be the protection of the right of retailers to sell legal tobacco products without unfair taxation and undue regulation. With this goal in mind, NATO is not creating a new trade show just for the sake of having a show of its own.
Rather, the NATO Show will make a major difference for the entire tobacco industry. This difference will be evident both in terms of the number of industry exhibitors and the broad cross section of the industry exhibiting at the NATO Show. Every tobacco category including cigarettes, cigars, roll-your-own, smokeless tobacco, pipe tobacco and tobacco accessories will be represented at the new NATO Show.
Moreover, the difference will be apparent in the kinds of retailers that attend the show since NATO retail membership encompasses tobacco stores, convenience stores, liquor stores, grocery stores and service stations.
But perhaps the most unique difference in the NATO Show will be what NATO does after the show takes place. With the NATO Show appealing to exhibitors from all segments of the tobacco industry and encompassing many different kinds of retailers, the outcome of the show will provide NATO with additional resources to expand the association’s tobacco legislative efforts. In other words, support for the NATO Show will translate directly into additional legislative support for the tobacco industry.
